Stratus Static: A pinnacle & defining moment from Coldcut's seminal 'Journey's By DJ' mix, still perhaps one of the greatest studio mixes from the 90's. In honesty I perhaps wouldn't have heard this without that. Its great to go back to some true genius electronic music & this 12" is an odd, sometimes sickly/unsettling beauty.

The track Stratus Static is basically a loop from 'When the Shit goes down' by Cypress Hill which has been phased out and an acid loop added to it. Superb track that Coldcut added to their Jorneys by DJ mix CD.

Coiwield

Two good tracks here on blue vinyl. Stratus static is a hip hop style track with a great acid line layered on top. If there was there no gravity is a brilliant track with some sweet ambience and Mary Applegate singing about cradles in the sky. The other two tracks are merely filler though.
