The half-speed version is the greatest version of this, approaching something like Folke Rabe's "Was??" crossed with whalesong.
Mysterious Wrench
why must good music being reversed.... slow down......played faster,is this the new thing after sampling and reworking bits from a track !
Lonesome Orange Kid
As self-evident as it may sound: listen to the original versions, those at normal speed and unreversed, first! This way you'll enjoy both versions at best.
They released the reversed and slowed down versions as this is how they were played on the John Peel show when he received the tapes in the 70's. The story I've heard is that he received a reel to reel tape of the music and it was stored "tails out". When he played the song it therefore played backwards. I love these altered versions of the songs and was very excited when they were released.
