"Recorded at the tail end of a bleak winter in a single improvised take, this recording marks the first stirrings from Durlak’s long hibernation from solo work. His guitar playing is sampled and processed in real time using a series of granular synthesis patches to create densely layered and dark sounds not easily associated with their original source."

Really deep music so embedded with emotion that within minutes it’s mysteriously taken you to the brink in this guitar-drone epic. There’s a ton of movement and form that takes shape. Within the first minute you can sense there’s something very real and powerful. This echoing delay of strings being pulled and a pulsating hum are overwhelming and can actually be felt in the marrow of your bones.
Around tracks 2 and 3 swells of destruction and over-driven fury start to come in. A fury of harsh guitar driven explosions arise and then sparse landscape stumbles in with blips and scrapes. It’s hard to believe these metallic and dispassionate roars come from one guitar and one man. The power and fury is overwhelming. The transportation to a metal world is unbelievable.
