Any comments on the sound quality on the vinyl release? It shows mastereed by Vlado Meller who is an absolute butcher and makes me think this thing is loudess-warred all to hell...

I had the same question, because I was disappointed in how compressed the CD master was. So I sent FLAC rips of the CD and LP to a friend of mine who is a sound engineer for analysis, and this was his response:"The vinyl isn't any more dynamic than the CD. It sounds "warm" (I would say "dark") with quite a bit of roll-off above 8kHz. The snare almost disappears and there's no snap or bite in it. The kick drum doesn't hit any harder, though it may sound like it since there's less top to compete with. It's a relative thing. If anything, you could just EQ the CD to sound "warm" like the vinyl and avoid all the other distortion inherent to the format... Again, it's a preference. If you level match the CD against the vinyl, one doesn't sound any more dynamic than the other. If anything, the vinyl is less dynamic with the poor frequency response in the top end."Take it or leave it. I do own both the CD and LP and although I couldn't really audibly detect what is stated above, I did notice a lot of the same clipping/distortion in the vinyl that is heard on the CD. With that said, my vinyl copy is still high quality - flat, centered properly, and no surface noise. All things considered, even though the actual audio doesn't sound much different than the CD, it still sounds OK.
Dark_Sun
It sounds a lot better than the cd, much more dynamic range.

I picked this album up in HMV today for £12.99 (sale) and it’s turned out to be the glow in the dark vinyl! It didn’t come with the poster however so guess it’s either GITD poster or GITD vinyl (is it 500 each or 500 poster or vinyl). Sounds good to me too, very quiet pressing with good highs and lows. Should I make another entry for the U.K. & Euro GITD vinyl?

Is this the listing for the violet pressing? I got it through their site, nit the box just the record. It plays great, no pressing issues.
Steep
matrix of your LP is stricly the same as the one which come in the other box (LP violet + 3x 7"). And like the other box, your is limited to 2000 copies too, according to Napalm Records.

I've submitted the Violet pressing to Discogs...hopefully you should be able to find it now...Cheers!

I have the violet pressing as well. I pre-ordered it the day they went on sale. It was a bundle package that came with a T-Shirt & a rad slipmat. Being that its not listed here and i've seen no copies pop up on ebay as of yet I would assume it might eventually be pretty rare. Being that you are literally the only other person talking about it i'm going to assume almost no one preordered it. Looks like alot of people went for the gold. Glad I didnt. The press of this record sounds absolutely incredible! Gotta admit tho, would love to get my hands on one of those glow in the dark copies.

Dumbest marketing gimmick ever - disappoint about 90% of your customers. So, is it just the glow in the dark ones that have the poster? Or all the ones in this edition? I have a sealed copy which weighs 455g - presumably it would be more with the poster or less without.

If anyone is looking for the glow poster, contact me. I will never look at it again most likely.
Fast Lovebird
I bought one today which is standard black wax but it has the glow in the dark poster print...... so who knows? I was hoping for the glow lp.
Dianazius
I bought this on a whim today and opened to find I was lucky to get a glow in the dark version. It did have a booklet but no poster. I just dont know how to update the listing.

As you can hear in the net, some of the glow versions have a poster, in other glow versions there is no poster. Would be interesting if there is a weight difference between the glow and the normal version of the "Mistery VInyl" - maybe someone, who knows can post.

Can someone clarify the MYSTERY VINYL thing? I can't find any info about this on the internet. Also, on Amazon Italy there's an additional silver edition of this album. Is it as limited as the gold one? At the moment there's quite a lack of infos about this record.
Adoraris
All i know is that this "limited edition" situation is simply frustrating. No clear infos at all anywhere and resellers add even more mess to this. I think i'm gonna stick to the regular version for the next releases and try to pay it as less as i can. This time i got lucky enough to pay the silver vinyl less than the black one, so i'm quite happy about it.
black coffe
The glow in the dark editions don't seem to have the glow in the dark poster , but maybe a few do The poster looks stupid, so why be concerned? I would just be happy to find the glow in the dark vinyl.
Vivaral
You had a GitD Vinyl in your Gold Edition, which you ordered at napalm? On the one hand cool, on the other hand stupid, since the golden one is now sold out. The info on the editions of the Shiny LP was confusing from the start. For the time being you can say: Gold = 750, Silver = 500 for the UK (rest of the world =?), Spotify = 1000.
Kanek
It's very likely the mystery vinyl (glow in the dark) didn't just make it's way into the retail black variant. What I thought I was getting was the "gold" version I pre-ordered some time ago from napalm records, but what came in the mail was a glow in the dark version along with an additional neon black light poster/insert in the back gatefold sleeve. The shrink wrap sticker reads: " Exclusive and strictly limited Napalm Records Mailorder Edition *GOLD*" no mention of a mystery variant.
Mr_KiLLaURa
The Mystery Vinyl is 5000 copies total. Out of the 5000, 4500 are black and 500 are glow in the dark. No way of telling what you get until you open the record. The silver is the indie exclusive in Europe. The Gold was limited to 750 copies. Not sure how many the Silver is limited to. Hope that info helps!!
