So much for my pristine, sealed copy. I don't think my cat likes Morrissey. Woke up this morning to find the plastic shrink in tatters and Morrissey's face all scratched up. This is not even a joke. Lesson learned.#1: Don't covet anything, because it's going to get destroyed in the end. I hope I remember that the next time I'm tempted to purchase grossly overpriced limited edition records. I feel like a fool after all these years of trying to stall the inevitable (if not today, then 10, 20, 60 years from now). The download code is not even redeemable at this point.#2: Cats are not allowed in my room unsupervised ever again. This shit has happened too many times! The silver lining? I finally get to see if I even got the correct records in my sleeve. That, and which ugly shade of salmon-pink/1980's bathroom wall they are!
Super P
worst gatefold photo EVER! LOL.
More transparent salmon pink than orange here for both. Yes, its a gatefold with 2 separate 2 sided b/w lyrics inserts.
My copy is 2 identical translucent orange (with a hint of pink) records. No A/B to C/D variation.
This is one of the most confusing pressings I've ever seen! There seems to be no consensus on what you're actually getting. Some of the people I've spoken to have said A/B is Pink and C/D is orange, some have said A/B is orange and C/D is pink. Some have said both are orange. Some of the copies I've seen just look to be a blend of both colors, which makes them appear to be more of a salmon color.Even then folks from Hot Topic don't seem to have their facts straight, since the sticker on the cellophane suggests both records are orange. Hard to know what to believe about this pressing, but I think it's safe to assume the pink/orange coloration is very inconsistent and at times very subtle (not at all like the stock images from the HT website). What you get is really just a crapshoot.I have also heard that some people got download cards for artists unrelated to Morrissey, and at least one person had a code that could not be redeemed. Pretty ridiculous if it's true.
Considering the process colored vinyl goes through, it's fairly safe to assume that this variation is intentional.
I actually managed to get a copy with only one record in it. That was lots of fun. Thankfully, Hot Topic replaced it.
Gatefold too?
The pictures I am seeing of this vinyl show that both vinyl are orange with pink in the center. I haven't seen any that show a pink with orange center.
