The sustained guitars that open "The Weight (Of A Future Mutation)" soon turn into a growl of electric proportions, weighed down additional by mournful vocals (though it perks up right at the end). Bitcrush is at it again, and with COLLAPSE, he paints a sonic portrait of an industrial decomposition. "To Collapse Into" has a long, meandering introduction which revels in its layers while slowly gaining momentum and bursting into a frenzy before reducing back down, allowing the quieter "To Collapse Out Of" to blossom. "All At Once It Was Erased" is the closest approach to traditional verse-chorus-verse songwriting, while "...For a Void" close the album on an almost hopeful note. Solid post-rock.
