//Such a great record but sadly this repress is full of errors as "mjb" said before! So that's, why I give this version only 3 stars! Don't hesitate to buy the original! It is a 5 star+ record!A real masterpiece!Lucky me I have it????????
Ximathewi
Great to see a lover of music and not a blah blah audiophile... Big up!
Kardana
You have to wash your ears! Especially the kick is completely different to the original!!!Hear the soundsamples MJB posted before!!So no bla bla!And if you still don't get it you have to visit an ear specialist!
Saberblade
Blabla... Great re-release. No error heard, can be copy error...
Riavay
Is this worth buying or do the flaws make it unenjoyable?
Mojind
no flaws on my copy, sounds and looks excellent! go ahead ;)
Danial
why are you asking me? you're the one that has to figure that out!
Zacki
Good question, especially when you consider the price performance.Just now, a "new"? bunch is out on decks. At least the price dropped for an silly euro.

I am regretting my purchase of the c. August 2016 repress, due to the following remastering errors:1. Throughout both tracks, all transients are muted, as if aggressive noise reduction has been applied across-the-board.For example, compare the attacks of the electronic drums from the vocal version's percussion break:• this DE-077 pressing (muffled, like an overly declicked needledrop or low-quality MP3)• The Best of Italo Disco Hits vol. III LP from 1985 (way more like how it's supposed to sound)The attacks are also muted on the 2007 CD I Love ZYX Italo Disco Collection 7, so this problem is apparently in the master recordings supplied to both ZYX in 2007 and Dark Entries in 2014. I PMed the Dark Entries label owner, and he said that the master came direct from Mr. Disc Organization; no noise reduction was applied, and that my ears must be playing tricks on me.2. On the instrumental side, there are other problems:• sudden bass boost at 0:36• skip at 4:14• sudden treble drop at 5:16 (listen to the hi-hats)• skip at 6:07• skip at 6:22 (harder to hear, but one of the kicks hits about 20 ms too soon) Sloppy! These skips are only a small fraction of a second of missing audio, not correlating to a full turn of the record, so they seem to be "baked in." They are not present in other recordings I've heard of original 12"s.The Dark Entries label owner says that all pressings of this 12" are derived from the same mothers, and I am the only person to have complained.I will amend this review if any new info is forthcoming.

What technology do you use to quantify the original with this pressing? Simple question but I am intrigued by your answer ;)

Probably a 35 years old master tape couldn't help too much.

SHODAN_2114, thanks for the confirmation. Josh also said that he would send me a new copy. None ever arrived. It seems that Mr. Disc Organization (Maurice Cavalieri) apparently supplies a skipping, overly declicked, inconsistently EQ'd vinyl transfer as the "master" for use by these reissue labels, and almost no one ever notices or cares, except a few of us chumps.
Gosar
"I am the only person to have complained." he said the same thing to me.I have the 2014 pressing and its got all the errors you mentioned. the Antibemusic digital release also has the same errors.

Now, there are cheap copies from the Label (dark entries) itself available again. Is this a 2nd press of the reissue, that will also hit european Shops?
Qumen
Yes, and yes. Just picked up a copy at HHV.
Rainpick
I believe I will not be alone to say we would love to have this repressed (regularly) :)
Swift Summer
or we should go and dig all the lost second hand shops in Europe, I'm sure you'll find some.
Der Bat

Released on Maurice's own Mr. Disc Organization, 'Spacer Woman' remained well hidden until it surfaced on the iconic I-f mix CD 'Mixed Up In The Hague Vol. 1' in 2000 and has since been regarded as one of the hottest cult revival tracks of current times. Even though 'Spacer Woman' has seen countless re-presses, most of them unofficial, bootlegs, rips, counterfeits and features in the past 10 years, none of them properly addressed the single most important issue: sound quality. Luckily for us all, this is where the San Francisco based imprint Dark Entries comes into play. Specialised in bringing to life out of print, unreleased and contemporary underground music, Josh Cheon employed the services of the legendary engineer George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkley to work his magic and get the track up to par with current audiophile demands. The remastered tracks bring the signature Linn Drum sounds and the TR-808 samples to a much crisper and punchier level, the arpeggiated DX7 synth melody line glides smoothly across the track and the vocoder vocals sound clean, loud and smoother than ever before. A pleasant and unexpected surprise was to find the sought after instrumental mix on the flipside, where just the stripping of vocals opens up the beautiful synth bass line and brings the lovely cosmic pads to a higher level of enjoyment. And to take things up to deluxe levels, the reissue is housed for the first time ever in a gorgeous silver metallic picture sleeve featuring the android model drawing taken from the original 7" release jacket and also features a 2-sided retro-design post card insert complete with lyrics and full credits. No matter if you are an italo-disco freak, a purveyor of the finest electronic sounds, the hottest DJ in your town or simply a good record lover, this is definitely one release to buy, cherish and pass on to the next generation so that this short-lived culture never gets lost.

This is a beautiful reissue on a high quality vinyl and cover is big surprise...a picture cover and a big one.I have this old and rare mr.disc 7'' single with this picture cover and was really happy when I bought this new 12'' Dark Entries reissue with same picture cover. This one is a remastered...I wonder why?If you ask me...there was no need for that. The old recording is very good and that's a fact.Of course I did a listening test and on new one the bass is a little more 'tight' and female vocal sound a bit harsh but you can't have it all!It is a decent piece of vinyl and it's just my opinion but I recommend in any case!A must have!!!Tony Knezovic
Lanin
finally i can own a copy
Gianni_Giant
Yes you are absolutely correct. Beautiful pressing with a terrific original picture sleeve something even the original 1983 doesn't have. I got my copy at the super price of 12.00 + 4.00 shipping=16.00 a real bargain. I was looking at the statistics for what other copies sold for some over 40.00 USA dollars! I am extremely happy with my purchase.
