Chevelle - 12 Bloody Spies: B-sides And Rarities Mp3

The vinyl gets points for pressing quality. My copy was flat and had relatively no noise whatsoever. Unfortunately, sound quality is a different story. This LP was clearly cut from a brickwalled master, which would explain why this cut is so quiet (the album peaks at -8 dBFS, most of my LPs peak around -3 or -4). They likely had to pull the level way down to keep the stylus from jumping right out of the groove. This seems to be the case for all of Chevelle's vinyl releases, with the exception of The North Corridor. The vinyl version of that album SMOKES the CD (give it a listen, it's not even close).

Oh, and despite this being a US pressing, the website for the digital download restricts access to the United States, so that part's completely out.

I'm keeping my copy for collectability reasons and because I'm a huge fan of the band, but don't purchase this release expecting great sound, because you will not get it.

All ranting aside, it is nice of the band to finally put these songs back in print. This release is a good option for anyone not interested in tracking down DualDiscs and Hot Topic versions of certain releases just for a few bonus tracks.
