Notes
"The Breakdown! " is what Ino, of House Cafe Music, uses to describe his new album with MC La Keise. And that's exactly what it is, a true breakdown of musical elements woven together uniquely and masterfully. Forget what you think you know about long-time producer, Ino. He's always been a man of many musical facets, and undoubtedly proves that here. He's definitely an artist with no fear who consistently dares to do anything and everything with music. This forthcoming album out on HCM (House Cafe Music) shows us that not only blind courage has inspired this project, but an array of sheer talent that Ino presents, all in the real art form of Hip-Hop. What makes Ino so brave with this new co-project is that it represents a total 180 from his usual Electronic, House, Techno, Jazz or Downtempo beats of the past. Accompanied by a talented Brooklyn, NY-based rapper, La Keise, the duo reference and pay homage to the early to mid-90's sound of U.S. Hip-Hop... an era many consider to be the a golden age for the genre. "Playing Cards" and "I Need A" are definitely great examples of that sound, and so are "Here But Gone" and of course, the ode to NYC entitled, "Another Day In NYC". As soon as you hit the play button, you are reminded of such groups and producers as: A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, and Prince Paul, as well as early West Coast Hip-Hop artists such as Snoop Dogg, Dr.Dre and The Pharcyde. Not many artists in this genre of music are able to replicate that same feeling or vibe that was done so long ago. But rest assured, it is not all saturated by Hip-Hop sounds of the 90's. Even though The Breakdown is obviously heavily influenced from the artists mentioned above, Ino and La Keise, with the help of fellow Silent DJazz musicians, give this album its own new-school twist, using electronic sampled beats with live Funk and Jazz elements. DOPE!!!!! Digital DOPE!!!!! Check out the vibe ya'll !...
