Does anyone know who owns the rights and/or masters to this particular track? I am guessing whoever owns Solar Records' assets. It is mysteriously absent from all Dre comps, greatest hits, streaming, etc. I have to imagine the master tapes are sitting in a warehouse somewhere in L.A.

Be careful with this one if your looking for the promo versions- pay attention to all the re-issues, some appear identical, and some sellers will sure as hell try to charge £100+ for them. Most came in black shrink wrapped sleeves.

I have the version thats pictured, This is the promo version as it says not for sale-for promotional use only on the disc. Which ones come in black shrink wrapped sleeves ?

Anyone know why the radio edit doesn't start until 9 seconds in ? You can hear the start of the song in the background.Does anyone know who has this CD if the radio edit was originally released like this or if it's just the promo copies ?

I've always believed this to be a mastering error. And yes, you can hear the bleed through of the album version intro where it was muted in the mix. Perhaps when the tape was sent to the pressing plant, the very low audio was assumed to be part of the song and left on the intro. If I recall correctly, it's the same way on the 2Pac/Biggie "Runnin'" US maxi CD, which contains the original radio edit of "Deep Cover." I believe that rare US CD single is the only other place to get the radio edit of "Deep Cover" on CD.

This was how the radio edit was mastered on all versions, without the intro. I think they did this to cut down the running time.
