True stereo mixes are only present on Japanese versions of her albums. With the right software, you can easily isolate her vocals
Here is a noisy vinyl rip if you want to hear, I'd love to see if you can get a better result!-link removed for copyright
I have tried both.I did the same trick with Gainsbourg's N2, It worked EXTREMELY well with a Flac. Then I did the same to my own record to a bit less success. It's a flaw of records not being absolutely perfect, there is always a degree of flaw in analogue.
Just have them recorded direct from phono to a program like Audacity via a phono-to-USB adaptor. From then on you can use plugins or separate programs to do frequency and channel isolation with varying degrees of success. Yes, the echo in the backing track is a problem but moreso the vocals will stand out much more than the backing track.I think you may be using the trick of removing the middle channel? I'm talking about removing everything else but the middle channel.
*Update*Perhaps my Hi-Fi is the problem, or contributing to other problems at the very least.I noticed my right channel is 2 Db louder then the left, time for a new stylus and cartridge? At the very least fixing that would yield a much better result!
Yes, and no, I have tried this. Depending on the track it has varying effect.Anything track with an echo of her voice in backing tracks microphone will leave an eerie echo sound.Either that or there is not %100 stereo separation between the left and right tracks, probably a little of both.
