Great unofficial release from Genesis' Chicago 1978 show. The initial vinyl releases appeared in 3 different guises.
The first release from USA west coast had the black/greyish type cover and was a relatively small run at the time of probably 1000-Slipped Disc labels and top quality pressing.Came out together with Yes In The Round 1978-same type cover and quality-and this was around 1979/80.Another pressing soon followed for the same 2 releases and using the same plates-Genesis appeared in a blue cover and Yes in a green cover but both had the same artwork as their 1st pressings..Again top pressings.
However the Genesis release was then copied on the east coast USA and these came out in bigger numbers.Same type colour cover as the first greyish issue but both the sleeve and the sound/pressing quality are a little down on the original 2 pressings.Because it was so good in the first place there is not that much of a difference but it is noticeable. These later East side pressings had various labels-and often white blank-they were done to order and so there were different batches and the way it worked then was to use whatever labels were around on several releases, if they were done at the same time-AND also if none around at the time they were left blank!
This takes it to the mid/late 1980s-no doubt it was copied to CD as its a top show but I will leave it there.
