Why is this one merged with Village Gate 1976?
Two concerts, nothing in common!

Wow, I should have read the reviews below before buying. Having other bootlegs and recently released CD live concerts of Gils, this is the worst by far I've ever heard. Mixing is all over the place and the recording cuts out on a few tracks. I actually had to check my turntable to make sure something wasn't wrong. The only good thing about this recording is that it captures some of Gil's legendary banter. Very disappointing. Still waiting for the definitive boxed set.

Shitty recording for such a great artist. Such a shame. No basses, it seems only Gil and his piano were micked up on the concert. You can't almost hear the band except saxophone. DOL bought tapes from the engineer who recorded on the down low then or what ??

For anyone who is a fan of Gil please avoid this release at all costs. I made the mistake of paying 30 dollars for the at a local store in Vancouver. Let's just say for people old enough to remember taping songs off a AM radio station as a kid this is what this sounds like. A poor recording that is so low it sounds like it was transferred from a cassette tape recording of the show. One star is all this deserves.
