Grandadbob - Pictures Mp3

I've spent a lot of time (alone) with this record since I wrote the first review about the Naughty remix. I still stand by that review. That remix has legitimate lasting power as well as having the ability to make me feel good almost instantly. The B-Side though, the Quiet Village Remix, really deserves attention, which is why I'm back for a second time on the same title. Matt Edwards and Joel Martin went really creative on this. Its not out of any mold. Its a complete hodge podge of tones, percussion, big bass, vocal snippets, you name it. It could be considered lazy progressive or possibly on the spaced out side of tech house. It is truly awesome music. What really kills me is the part before the after the break in the middle. In these sections the percussion loops for extended periods and completely owns my mind. I get lost. The only other piece of music that's ever done this to me is the break down in Way Out West - "The Fall" (Bedrock Remix) which is featured on John Digweed's GU19 CD. If you've listened to the extended percussion break in that song on John's cd, you'll start to get a feeling for what I'm trying to describe here. In all seriousness just buy this record and if you don't love it you can write me and tell me that I dont know what good music is :)

Hmm I'm not sure which genre to put the Naughty Mix in. Really nice sunday afternoon female vocals and an all out symphony of organic melodies and strings lift you right off into space. Its got a soft, somewhat broken beat, warm bassline and registers in at 112 bpm. Dont let the tempo put you off though, you can pitch this up to plus 5 and it actually sounds better and better the faster you take it. I really can't help but smile with this one :-D
