I own two copies of this pressing, both have the same problem with heavy crackle in the right channel A1-A3. From A4 and forth there are no deviations in sound quality. Do anyone else experience this? Both records are visually flawless. Both cleaned a couple of times but the problem remains.

Thanks for your reply, I had intended to buy a third copy of the record but have now decided not to. The risk is that there are no english presses that meet my expectations. I agree that this record deserves as good playback quality as possible. I would really appreciate a professional reissue of the record. I wonder if the Japanese press is better?

I managed to pick up a second hand copy from my local record shop. My copy was in great condition without any scuffing or hairline scratches. However; just like your 2 copies the record has a heavy crackle on sides A and B. There are also horrendous pops on the B side. It very much spoils the enjoyment of an otherwise wonderful piece of music - very frustrating.

I stay away from all Eno pressed by Editions EG. I've had problems with their sound quality, even when they look unmarked like yours.
