In December 2007 Juliana Hatfield released five previously unreleased outtakes, demos and new recordings on "the honor system" via her official website at julianahatfield.com. Each download was offered on a pay-what-you-can basis.

From 2004 to 2006, Juliana had released 31 previous unreleased tracks via the original Honor System Downloads and an additional 9 tracks via the August 2006 Downloads.

Due to server storage costs and bandwidth issues, the downloads were temporarily removed for most of 2007. With the December 2007 update Juliana reposted 22 of the original Honor System Downloads, but only a single track ("The Last Shiver") from the August batch remained.

The December 2007 Downloads were offered at a lower bitrate than previous offerings (160 kbps compared to 192 kbps).

The downloads were temporarily removed from October 2008 to March 2009. When they returned, all five December 2007 Downloads remained.

The tracks were permanently deleted in the site update of March 18, 2011 and never reposted.
