Nice work. The source tape is limited in range and suffers from overdriven inputs. Unlike some of the LaMonte Young low-fi recordings where the range significantly diminishes the listening experience, this recording still possesses enough fidelity that one can appreciate the ensemble interplay and the glory of the work. But the fidelity will probably limit the number of repeat plays I give this one.
True. I was really disapointed by the sound quality of this release in some parts because the music is so brilliant. Do you think they could have done a better job mastering the original source recording?
