This album seems to be rather experimental than a "good-old" Juno Reactor. The voice part, which was an excellent addition to rhythm and melody, is pretty annoying now. Nevertheless, the mastering of "Las Vegas Future Past" is like the previous Juno albums. And this fact sets thinking that Gods and Monsters is just a "style rambling" which almost every group or artist is dealt with.
In two words, the album looks like something incomplete and raw. Who knows, maybe Juno should been release a demo of the album to receive an feedback from fans and listeners.

Ben Watkins probably knew he would get some unfavorable reviews with this album and you have to respect him for doing whatever he wants musically. There is a blatant disregard for genres here, which has become the Juno Reactor modus operandi since the turn of the century. That said, as a long time fan of this man, I just can't get into any of the tracks on this album. Questionable vocals, guitars, gospel choruses and live-but-not-really-live drum loops dominate most of these tracks, and while I'll always consider Watkins a top notch producer, I consider this more of a personal experiment rather than something embodying the Juno Reactor concept. Your mileage may vary of course. For me, I'll keep the spirit alive by revisiting the albums from the 90s.
