Kamperen in Frankrijk comes with a new album. They might sound familiar to you with old songs like ‘Waar is mijn gitaar?’ or ‘Creative dripping sack’. Or even older songs like ‘The rape machine’ or ‘Summer melancholy chords’.
Whatever it might be, there is a possibility that the new lyrics on the brand-new tape album are mysterious and haunting. They seem to come back from time to time and can easily be visualized. Some excerpts …
Dirty little pigeon
finds its way back home.
What have you become.
Go into the pantry,
grab a box of pasta.
Drink the last piece of cardboard.
Shake it like a kitchen sink.
There is a note …
This album is recorded on a 4-track tape recorder in their old rehearsal room in Vilvoorde. They met a year after recording the previous album. The tracks are recorded in one go with, most remarkably, no rehearsals beforehand. No overdubs are made. The music comes intuitively.
Spoken word and free association glue the parts together. The dark yet beautiful eighties-like synth pads feel like David Lynch meets Jurassic Park. Some lo-fi electronics and eternal ongoing guitar riffs spice up the atmosphere.
