The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble is a weird combination of the organic and the mechanic, contrary to technophobes' beliefs that a soul has no machine. Jason Kohnen and Gideon Kiers started T.K.D.E. around 2000, principally as an audio/visual project remixing old movie classics like Murnau's Nosferatu or Lang's Metropolis, leading to a natural progression into producing this clash of organic and mechanic. Kiers is better known for his work with Telcosystems and Kohnen as Bong-Ra. T.K.D.E. has been strengthed by the great improvising trombone sounds of Hilary Jeffrey, Nina Hitz on Cello and Edwin Loman on guitar.
