King Crimson will always stay connected with progressive rock. Since the early days of the band, with the leader guitarist Robert Fripp, King Crimson has experimented with in the late 1960s rock and elements of classical music and jazz. The first album In The Court Of The Crimson King, was released in 1969 and set the standard for the genre. Several band members, however, were not satisfied with the musical direction of the Group and stepped on, something would happen more often after that. The 1970s were dominated by new albums and tours, various different band swings, where lifting ever threatened. In 1981 Fripp formed a new band Discipline, but this name was soon changed again King Crimson: the result was an entirely new composition. After a period of rest was King Crimson again in 1994 new life and new work, and also in the current millennium is King Crimson still together, for how long it takes at least because the members have indicated that the band so weather can be lifted if the inspiration is missing to make music.
