I keep coming back to this one. I can't believe it's 10 years since it was originally released. All of the tracks are still current, not a single feeling of a "dated sound". Although some of the tracks belong to the "Nu-Disco"-scene/vibe of the 00's Linkwood's music belong to the very exclusive folder of 'timeless music' for me.
What makes the album - as well as Linkwood's music in general - stick out in the world of Deep House and Nu-Disco is the complete lack of sterile loops or, rather, the organic or psychedelic presence. The music is alive, not a single moment is left aside. Personally I come from a Psychedelia-background, and I've always been allergic to the "dead loops" that is infecting a majority of the MDMA-fuelled House-/Techno-scene. The music here is different, through simple production techniques there is joy in every moment, and I wouldn't mind playing this for, let's say, my 63-year old trumpet-playing father. In fact, I played this album for my Hip Hop-head of a friend last week with great success. Perfect album experience, simply.
