I haven't listened to any other vinyl editions, but UK original sounds - to me - rather flat and one dimensional. There is no air around the songs, no micro detail, no sense of depth to the soundstage.

I've always found the CD to be rather shrill, too. Perhaps Mike Hedges just recorded it this way. I find This Is My Truth to suffer similar issues.

Reggy
This is the best sounding vinyl version. Ignore all that MOV audiophoolery bollocks.
As always, the originals tend to sound the best. Never more so than with Manic's albums.
