Hearing what Minilogue currently produce in music-you would never suspect this duo is more than capable of producing superb progressive house/trance. Yes there is the progressive house Minilogue produced through the Source of Gravity and Baroque record labels which was exceptional during 2000-2003, but this release really put it into prospective that they are capable of doing almost any genre of music. In this case, Minilogue's The Breeze(We Can Hear It Mix) is a high energy progressive trance number that has all the qualities that made them a revered name amongst progressive DJ's. The track begins with soft percussions for the first couple of phrases, then the deep and hard kick drum that is synonymous with Minilogue takes the track to flight. Minilogue productions are a culmination of creativity with knowledge of the studio, and that's apparent with how they balance rhythmic pads with the chorus in music. In other words, they can do a lot with minimal music without drowning out music with a large array of cacophonous sounds. As the track progresses there are layers of rhythm that slowly merge and an emotional chorus crawls out of the drums and envelopes the track. A small breakbeat then suddenly becomes part of the break down and you hear the more musical side of Minilogue. The We Can Hear It Mix has been in my top 100 vinyls (out of a collection of 3000+) because it's a peak time track that has aged well. Minilogue didn't go for the cliched sounds that many artist do. They produced a well polished track that could still be played today and one of its rarest qualities is how well balanced this track is on the dance floor. Listening to this track, putting it simply, makes you want to dance.
You must remember that First and Foremost they were amazing Psy/Goa/Prog-Trance producers under the Son Kite name.
