VizoRRR
An absolute must UK promo only 12" single from Columbia (CBS) AKA Sony Music Entertainment UK
BUT for all the right WRONG reasons.

It is the B side that IS the track: Nancy Ames Eso Besso (That Kiss) NOT "Mr Bongo"'s very naff and instantly throw away cover of Booker T's classic Soul Limbo a Stax gem from 1968 (used by the BBC as their Cricket Theme) The Stax original is easy to find and the Polydor and Pye re-issues naturally have the stero mix as against EMI's 1968 original Stax release which is in mono.

Eso Beso is a Latino classic (although Nancy is from the USA and is a lawyer.....go figure) It is taken from Nancy's 1965 Latino album on USA Columbia Inc's EPIC label. The track has never had a single release outside South America or in stereo in this format as a single. So this pressing is a world exclusive as a 12" single and presented in it's stereo mix. It's one of those tracks that you just don't want it to end 2 1/2 minutes is just NOT long enough.

The facts below are re the physically presented to DJ's product and NOT the track which is quite simply faultless, and a must in every one's collection.

1. Mr Bongo loves himself too much (its about him, for him, with him, of him, done by him, located by him, ) NO it's NOT! It's about a rather good Latino Compilation that he gave input to for Sony Music Entertainment UK

2. The Album did not have a vinyl release (pointless and needless) or even an MD release! (But did have a hissy 1. 1.78 IPS cassette release.

3. The promo package gives a minimal one line mention to Miss Ames but rather promotes and dominates with MR Bongo and his vile cover of THE CRICKET SONG wrong: The B side should be about Eso Beso and should have had equal sleeve billing

4. The label text by the ex-CBS staff is just crazy the tracks were cut at 45 rpm but the label states 33 1/3
Eso Beso is stated as a MR BONGO track/performer WRONG and enough said. On the label poor Miss Ames does not get a hint of a mention, so loose the sleeve OR tear the rear (red) view of the sleeve and there is no way of knowing who sings the B side.

5. Eso could have been extended to almost double length ie 5 mins as was done with Tequila by Cooltempo when the licenced the track and a 12" promo came out was a nice a really good touch for the dance floor.

An insulting gaff all around and one that Bingo-Bongo should be very ashamed of. Give credit where credit is due, really sad. At least Nancy gets some royalties from the CD sales, you owe her lip service!

Pressing + An absolute bulk standard CBS Aylesbury pressing (ex-Oriole factory) mastered and cut @ 45rpm

If you have never heard this track go find it and savour it will hit the spot a summer must!
PS. Paul Anka did a great cover of Eso too!
