Nabat - Laida Bologna Mp3

'I must admit that I'd expected this to be some sort of sub 4-Skins carbon copy, but instead I was rewarded wih a bloody fine example of good latin Oi Oi music. Nabat certainly possess a unique sound all their own, unlike so many foreign bands who are just a pale shadow of the British originals, there are no straight comparisions in Nabat's case and they stand head and shoulders above the rest. The title track "Laida Bologna" (ugly Bologna) is a mighty verbal assault on corrupt Italian officials that won't win them many friends in the Mafia! I loved the lines "Left wing junta is your ruin/ Salami power the dirty discipline.." baffling I know, and the translation does Nabat no justice at all. The rest of the ep - "Power in the Streets", "Long Live the Oi Rebels" and "Slut"- are much faster but of the same generally high quality, especially "Power.." with it's breakneck chorus and frenetic guitar work. I don't know about UK distribution but miss this one at your peril! - Hard As Nails Issue 6
