No Alternative - Backtracks Mp3

I've heard some people dismiss No Alternative as boring. Which leads me to ask, "What record are you listening to?" Here are three spunky, punky, upbeat numbers that have always sounded great to me. "Make Guns Not Love" is a slow, melodic number with cool backing vocals. "Metro Police Theme" is a sort of toss-off instrumental filler, but it ain't a TURD. While "Rockabilly Rumble" has a great beat that you can dance your ass off to!You should also check out the "Nights In San Francisco" LP which not only features these three songs, but a lot of unreleased stuff, comp tracks and the like. There is an early Social Distortion feel, based largely on early rock n roll. No thrashing here, just primo musicianship, vocal hooks and some Chuck Berry-inspired guitar work.

It's a matter of taste, of course, but to me they ARE boring.
