Estas Si Viven (The Living End) could be leftovers from the session that produced the tremendous Concierto Para Bongo LP. The sound is mod but subdued for Prado. Curiously, about half the album is devoted to interpretations of Brasilian tunes, almost all of which are by the great composer Eumir Deodato. But none work especially well as Latin tunes, at least not as Prado presents them here; "Cabo Frio" is the only lively one. (There is nothing to compare with the Brasilian tunes on his earlier Our Man in Latin America LP.) The last four selections are the most interesting. He covers "Over the Rainbow," "Working on the Railroad," "The Time of the Monkees (Monkees Theme)," and "Fly Me to the Moon." Nothing heavy, but Prado completists will be pleased.
