The Anonymous Producer of the A-Side is Don Diablo! ;)

This one-release label may not be very known, one of the tracks released on it probably does ring a bell for most people. On the A-side of this 1997 release is the track by Project X, called 'Mary Go Hard'. And yes, you guessed correctly: It's the hardcore version of house-classic 'Mary Go Wild'
It actually is a pretty good track, nice build up, good bass, and halfway the distinct melody from Grooveyard's track takes over. You didn't hear this track very much at parties back then, mainly because the record was banned pretty soon after it's release.

On the B-side is a very interesting track called 'The Beginning'. It's fairly dark and rather slow (especially for that time). The eery sound and deep bass remind a little bit of the PCP-style from that era, but the producer behind this one is not Marc Acardipane. It is the very first release by Eugene van Brakel (Brainiac), who would later become well known under his later adapted aliases Meagashira and Project Omeaga. A nice insight in his style, which is already recognizable here I think.

Many people might not be aware of this, but this was the first release of famous Dutch hardcore producer Meagashira, currently of Enzyme Records. To quote from his site:

"This was E. van Brakel’s firsdt release on vinyl. The record was doomed to be withdrawn from the recordstores, since the A-side, made by an anonymous producer, contained a track with a sample from the well-known club track ‘Mary go Wild’. Being a hype at first, the copyright owner managed to get the records from the shelves under the threat of starting a lawsuit. The B1-track was soon forgotten, but shows a nice example of the early dark sound of the producer. If you own a copy, cherish it, because you may be one of the few owners."
