I am totally blown away with the production quality of the album. I always test my tunes on the Bose Wave in the kitchen as it is brutal for showing up poor production or distorted frequencies. From the moment I put the CD on, you could tell it was quality. The tunes progress you through the various ebs and flows of breakbeat hardcore with a nod to classic tunes such as humanoid and even some fun (bizarre) samples to boot. My 18 month old son loves this sort of music and he started running round the kitchen with his arms in the air, screaming, all he needed was a glow stick and white gloves! HYPER! The only down side to this album for me was the last track, being far more Drum & Bass than the rest of the album. It's a great tune and nothing should be taken away from the quality and production, just for me it doesn't belong. I also don't care much for the mix (sorry), but I still don't understand how a black CD plays? - the artwork on the mix CD alone is worth keeping it for - great job pursuit, looking forward to the next one - keep it up, we love you and your music.

What can I say. Pursuit has come up trumps with his long awaited second album. Jam packed with authentically oldskool styled breakbeat hardcore, jungle and happy hardcore tracks, 'A Rave New World' is a real treat for raver old and new.

The bulk of tracks appear heavily influenced by the stab and sample fuelled, hyperactivity of 1992 breakbeat hardcore, with the likes of 'Funky Intro' and 'Bass Humanoid' taking inspiration from many a classic rave tune from that era.
The unashamedly ecstatic 'Buy Now Pay February' adds a touch of happy hardcore to the mix before we are taken deep into the realms of jungle tekno with Out Of Sight and the sublime, Fast Floor style 'Crystal Vison'.
The album is brought to a close by two heavyweight jungle belters with 'Rewind Boss' and 'Dubplate Style' to ensure that all rave bases are well and truly covered.

And if that wasn't enough for you, then the album comes complete with a massive 21 track mix CD by Dave The Junglist featuring tracks from the album and 11 bonus tracks from Pursuit's extensive back catalogue.

Just one listen to Pursuit's 'A Rave New World' proves that it has been a labour of love and the perfect tribute to that classic oldskool sound.
