Why would they re-release a formerly 3x10" vinyl release on a single 12" disc? 55 minutes on one 12" vinyl? That's going to sound shit. Especially idiotic decision considering both Songs For The Deaf and Lullabies are being reissued on double vinyl.
Shomeshet
It's 50 minutes (add Running Joke), so even more reason to spread it out. Given that 2 of the 4 reissues are doubles, it makes even less sense why this has gone from triple vinyl to a single vinyl!

47 minutes divided onto 2 side comes out to 23 and a half minutes... They should've spread this out over 2 12" vinyls.Maybe one day we'll get those bonus songs (Officially). There's a bootleg that covered a lot of those that has positive reviews. Not sure if it's possible to still buy it from here though.

Ok, my version ripped to iTunes is 55 mins (thanks to The Fun Machine Took A Shit & Died, nearly 7 mins long), but I note there are actually about 8 different versions in total that all have different extra tracks. The new reissue adds just one of these extra tracks (Running Joke), meaning the running time is still about 50 minutes. Anyone who has experienced albums this long on vinyl will have had variable results - usually very quiet and therefore prone to surface noise due to having to turn them up. Why not bring it out on double vinyl and add the following songs: Era Vulgaris, The Fun Machine, and the covers like Christian Brothers, I'm Designer, White Wedding etc...?

Except it's only 47 minutes… It will sound just fine.
Rageseeker
This is getting a deluxe reissue on 12" vinyl at last! Coming December the 6th.

I never believed that Josh Homme could release something so mediocre. I guess it happened. The only reason to come back and listen to this album is because it is a QOTSA album. Uninspired
Enone
So very, very true. Maybe its about time for another installment of Desert Sessions.
