Not a huge fan of the album, honestly, but my friend has a 2LP Black copy that he let me borrow and damn it sounded amazing. So I bit the bullet and got the 3LP Blue because everyone said it's the bee's knees and damn were they right. It sounds killer. If you are proud of your stereo on a quality standpoint you definitely need to get a copy just to hear it. High recommendation in my book.

Absolutely true for this and guilty also but I got to the point where I see the significance of making sure that I check everything out and add mine to the correct listing.Its tough especially when it comes to some of my old school Pink Floyd pressings where there's 1,000 different versions.Its very tedious but worth it when I know I've gotten it for sure.

Maybe a small amount. I think the bigger reason is people just adding whatever first release they see because they are too lazy to find the exact one they have. I used to do this as well before I was aware of reissues and the different sound and value they have.

I believe what happens at least in some cases is that people own the record and add it to their collection but then when they sell it they don't update their collection so you have a single record counted multiple times.

Interesting triple LP packaging approach, but I really like it. Artwork looks great too! The album sounds incredible too. Super clean and the surface noise is nil on mine, which makes the softer tracks even more rewarding sounding. This is a worthy remaster and a welcome addition to any Radiohead fan's collection. I would personally call this the definitive version to own on vinyl. It sounds leagues above the other copy I own. Only negative tick here for me is that the center hole is cut a little too small on my Disc 1. Taking this record off the player is incredibly stressful because of this, since I'm constantly afraid I'm going to accidentally snap the record no matter how careful I am.

Thanks for the review ! With some careful dexterity it's pretty easy to enlarge the spindle hole with a properly sized drill, round file, or x-acto knife...

You can very gently increase the spindle hole size by getting a knife with a very sharp edge (you know, like a kitchen knife) and turning it slowly and with not too much pressure, scraping a small amount of vinyl off the centre hole. Do it incrementally, a tiny bit on each side, until it fits perfectly. I've never had a problem doing this - and it avoids wrecking the record by bending it when it is stuck.

I totally agree with you about the sound quality of this pressing. This is the only album I own which I haven't cleaned. It looked so clean when I took it out of it's sleeve I put it straight onto my turntable to play. Wow! As you say surface noise is NIL! Add to that the fact that these are great song and this is probably my favourite album at the moment!

I was trying to ignore the comments complaining about the press quality/quality control on the US version but damn, I received a dud as well. I was given two side A/B ( IP/Skip), was missing C/D (Sky/Blue) and the bonus material LP has extra plastic around the edges because it was not cut properly. If my stylus ever caught the edge it would be done-zo. Hopefully either the Distro/Label can do something about this because I'm not stoked considering how this was priced.

A fantastic product containing all the songs on near perfectly pressed records. Not a single pop was heard throughout the entire marathon of the whole album. With the exception of the run in groove of side D (Blue) and a couple on the last record. But if its even significant to mention individual clicks and pops on a 3LP set then you should understand how good the quality is. You might be turned off by the blue coloring but I doubt the black version sounds any different. You cant do much better than a dead silent pressing. Mastering wise it displays excellent dynamics. Every instrument and sound can be appreciated with a crisp high and low end. The only thing that could be seen as a mistake is not including lyrics anywhere on this thick double gatefold with 3 inner sleeves. Since the singing is so hard to understand, especially for first time listeners it should really have been a no brainer. Another thing I dont really understand about the packaging is how they organized the sides. Maybe there is something Im missing because Im not a giant fan but if the first sleeve has a clear labeling of side A and B then why not the other 2? I dont love the photo bashed esc art either but it sure looks unique and iconic. If you have a choice between releases pick whichever is cheapest available to you of these latest remasters, you can make due without included lyrics but its definitely a big mistake on their part.Update: Im just loving the album more and more and my appreciation for the sound has not deminished the slightest as some other releases which I reviewed have. This really is one of the best digitally sourced records I have heard. Full and detailed sound staging. The only recent issue I noticed is with the song Subterranean Homesick Alien which I suspect has worn grooves from my previous Rega Cart. The high frequencies are crackly and sibilant. My copy surprisingly sounds very similar to my original 97' pressing in terms of quality (very good.) And the remastering is noticeable in parts of the album with little background parts being clearer and more pronounced. The bass has also been reworked.It's worth noting that a lot of the B sides were never well recorded and still sound pretty poor but the new b-sides (I Promise, Man of War, Lift) all sound great.My copy also has the same barcode of the black copies allegedly do despite having blue wax inside. Purchased in New Zealand if it makes a difference.Overall very pleased with my purchase. The blue pressing sounds a bit better than the records from my new box set do too! (Maybe my box set was pressed in the US?)

Great remaster, but there is some iffy QC on mine. There are many small indentations on the lead in groove which give a thumping sound right into the first 5 seconds of the first track. I might pick up a black copy instead.

Wow...I have to say I'm blown away by this mastering job. There are so many tracks on here that have got me scratching my head and thinking if certain instruments and little guitar licks were even on there in the original mix. It's definitely very a polished effort though and in someone ways it does seem a bit out of place if you've grown up with Radiohead at the time. The band is so much more chilled out these days (all relative of course) but back during the ok computer release there was so much angst, chaos and potentially even the feeling that it would all be too much for the band (see the Meeting People is Easy film and sections of the US tour where the guys look really stressed out). The less polished version (i.e.the original mix) of this album does seem to capture that feeling better. Make no doubts about it though - this one is phenomenal!

The songs are Airbag/How Am I Driving? were always my favorite non-album tracks. Really nice to have them on vinyl. The other B-sides are pretty unremarkable, but the remastered album sounds good. Haven't listened to it back to back with my original pressing, but on first listen my impression is that the sound quality is quite good. Overall I'm happy with this pressing, I think there are always going to be pressing errors in the current climate of vinyl production, and I understand people's frustrations with receiving flawed copies, but overall I think this seems much better than the Moon Shaped Pool colored vinyl and was totally worth purchasing. I've spun my copy 3 or 4 times this weekend! (There was a skip on side F, but after a couple plays it worked itself out.)

PIcked up a blue copy today from a local store in southern California. Have had my name on his list for a few weeks to buy this. Defects on side one of the first disc and label bubbling and peeling on side 2 of the last disc. Called the store owner who said he would contact Matador about it. This sucks. Owner has emailed manufacturer about it. Hopefully it works out. Will update.

Just finished listening to the first two discs... I'm perfectly satisfied with this release in spite of it not being my favorite pressing of OK Computer. There is some surface noise on side B and D but nothing too distracting. As a rule of thumb, however, if you're looking for highest sound quality always go with standard black vinyl. I already own a Parlophone 2nd Pressing and the 2016 XL North America pressing (my personal favorite) so I chose blue for the novelty. I also have the box set ordered and only purchased this because my full-blown vinyl addiction has eliminated any kind of patience I previously possessed as a human being. If you want the best sound quality possible, go black. If you want fancy blue records, go blue.Edit: I originally posted this under the US pressing which I own... Somehow got shifted here when Discogs did a merge.

I have all the 2016 XL reissues. They are all very good! Absolutely destroy any Capitol pressing. I only had a problem with the 12" North American pressing of Kid A. Went through a few of those before importing an EU pressing which is flawless. I also have 1st or 2nd Parlophone pressings of The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief to compare against. The XL reissues are just as good and, in some cases, even better than the original/early Parlophones.

My copy seems to sound okay. I also ordered the box set since the UK pressings of any Radiohead record are always best. I opted for the blue copy also, so now I have an original 97 Parlaphone, the blue reissue and the black UK issue from the box set. I did buy a 2016 XL reissue of In Rainbows and it beats the original 2007 TBD release all day long. Do you have any of the other 2016 pressings from XL? The consensus seems to be that they're the next best thing compared to original Paralophone pressings.

Definitely get the black one, it sounds heaps better than the blue. Clearly more dynamics with better punches, weightier bass and more addictive drum kicks. Clearer and more focused overall. I got both.

The colour makes no different to the sound. The records are produced off the same masters and pressed at the same plant just some records pressed with the blue colour added and others pressed with black colour added.

this is true. they did press more, hence the overabundance available. Feel bad for the people who overspent when it was first released. Kinda a dick move by Radiohead IMO & I'm a HUGE fan. The manufacturer also apparently sealed them too tight and this lead to a lot of bent corners, including mine.

Not a bad pressing this as reissues go and it is a rare thing of beauty to look at with the opaque blue vinyl and various inners but not quite as clear or clean as the final EMI pressing with the first vinyl containing more surface noise than expected and a lack of clarity in places , the bass is a little bit to heavy. Things improve massively for the second vinyl and whilst I haven't heard the bonus vinyl yet, I went for this limited edition mainly for the extra tracks which I've never heard on any format before. Received my copy and I made a comparison with my ORIGINAL PARLOPHONE UK copy. First, i need to say that the new pressing is amazing and is highly recommended. I was able to listen to new background details. The high frequencies were very enjoyable to listen to. However, the bass in the original is more genuine to my ears, compared to the repress, with the latter sounding more artificial. In addition, the original has a better flow in the music, with the repress not lacking too much behind.I confirm that some remastering took place, albeit subtle. The sound feels slightly less analog and bass shy in the repress.I definitely recommend purchasing this repress to someone that does not want to invest in an original. Small differences exist, that might not be revealed to an elementary turntable and audio system.

Probably one of the best reissues that I have ever heard. I can compare this to the original CD (all that I was aware that was available when it was released) and attest to the fact that this version is light years ahead. Absolutely amazing remix, additional songs and pressing. In my opinion this album far exceeds DSOTM and Sargent Pepper...But not quite Unknown Pleasures or Bitches Brew...Well worth buying.

Good idea, support the Ebay flippers and pay £50 + for a £23 record! Not your fault I'm sure, but it's disgusting the prices people are asking for this on here and on Ebay. Someone wants £75 on here for a record released less than a week ago! Wait until the 4000 become available in the US and prices will plummet and all the flippers will be left out of pocket.

This review is for the blue vinyl edition. I do not have a previous vinyl pressing to compare to, so my comparison is with the original cd release and more recent iTunes digital version. As far as the remaster goes, they have done an excellent job IMO. There is power and clarity in the mix, but there is still ample dynamic range. No loudness war issues here... The vinyl itself is excellent. Crisp and quiet right out of the shrink wrap, and the discs are flat and centered - as you would expect from an Optimal pressing. All-In-all, an excellent release that is well worth the money and sounds fantastic on vinyl. As previously stated, I can't comment vs. Previous vinyl pressings, but compared to digital versions, this pressing holds its own admirably.

I found by chance and bought this Blue Opaque 3 LP's today at 12h03 to "Gibert Joseph" indépendant records shop in Montpellier, France... Only 2 exemplaires available in this store for 25,99€. I'm very glad, lucky day ! Tomorrow i will try to test it and post a comment in a few day about the sound !

'No skips or distortion' means that it sounds good? That just means you dont have a duff pressing. People want to know how it compares sonically to the original.

My copy has some nasty non fill noise during exit music. Apart from that it's a real nice pressing. The noise during the quiet part of exit music bugs me though, might try to get an replacement if this is not a widespread issue.

Can't comment on the blue, but the standard black edition of OKNOTOK sounds absolutely fantastic.
