Renato Mendes: The pioneer of electronic music in Brazil.

The pianist and arranger Renato Mendes opened up new musical possibilities in 1974 when it launched Electronicus, perhaps the first record of electronic music in Brazil, a landmark in the history of electronic and Brazilian music.

In his record he created for moog versions of classic Brazilian music known in the voice of Tom Jobim, Vinicius de Moraes, Chico Buarque, among others.

Renato Mendes was a pianist / keyboardist well respected in his time.. He spent 217 hours recording this record, that were alternated in "Proof Studio" and "Studio gathered." It was a very laborious process.

Recorded on 8 channels, plus drums performed by the Norival Ricardo D’Angelo, the rest of the sound is entirely generated by Moog, which emits only one note at a time.

The whole line was built in a process which at the timewas known as "reductions" which consists of going pre-mixing several in a single track and then go re-leveraging the same again.
