Tangerine Dream - Detroit - March 31st 1977 Mp3

I listened to this and thought it showed a different face of Tangerine Dream. The tracks are basically supposed to be what was on 1977's Encore release but the versions are not the same as the work on Encore. Some fans might find that a good thing others might conclude that TD's approach to concerts was too improvisational-even if the results were often pleasing to the ear. I'm somewhere in the middle-sometimes the versions here are more powerful than whats on Encore and sometimes they are weaker. It does make TD look like a moody outfit who changed their material if their mood changed. This 2 CD affair retails for hundreds of dollars which I think is excessive. A fun ride for maybe 20-30 bucks but not for hundreds of dollars. Primarily for collectors anyway.
