Weird, no promises without the vocal might not even be that good, the bassline is pretty awful tbh. But the vocal melody takes it to the next level

"No Promises" is right up there as one of the best (so don`t call it techno, nobody said you had to) and The Mackenzie were one of THE groups of the 1990`s ("Higher In The Sky" is a killer choon)
BORZOTA
This is actually a surprisingly good release - its an un-selfconcious gouch-out, peak-out tune of great quality, and pretty ahead of its time for 1990 actually. It has a meandering and trancey quality, with italian and rather Balearic feel, most enjoyable, not really what i would call techno though
Zut
"No Promises" bears no resemblance no connection to Icehouse whatsoever, it is however a sublime trance inducing sax driven instrumental of the highest order.
Lightseeker
A cool mackenzie release, with a kind of Belgian answer to Lil Louis 's "Blackout" on the A-side, and a beautiful uplifiting one on B-side, clearly an hommage to Icehouse "No promises", a 80' gem. Belgian hard beat techno-house at work.
