This may be THE flyest Christmas music of all time! I first heard it on a friend's boombox & I could barely keep myself from getting up to boogie to the uptempo tracks. It took me years to secure a copy & it sounded better than I remember. It has a VERY Motown-like sound & I wouldn't be surprised if it is indeed the Funk Brothers since there are a few of their classic hooks that get thrown in the mix every so often. The two lead singers sound like Stevie Wonder & Lou Rawls. If it isn't actually them singing these anonymous singers are extremely well-studied with the vocal nuances & inflections of their respective originals singers. There is not a bad or bland track to be found among the selections & everyone I've ever played it for has been as enthusiastic about it as I am. If you want to lively up your jingle bells this release will not let you down.
