So... Finally... after 2 years in the making... a ton of work... and a lot of fun!!.. You have before you the completely new and original Ullulators 'Dub Royale, Chapter 1'.

Recorded in London, and in Europe, this album represents a whole new chapter in the evolution of the Ullulator creative universe.

The inspiration behind this project has been to create an album that embodies and honors the vibe, sonic footprint, and genre of 70's-'80's roots dub reggae, whilst still incorporating elements that contribute to our unique sound. There are several 'flavours' to this album, from rootsy dub, to world elements, to full songs with the aid of some very talented singers new to the family, We have included some 'dubbed' versions of the more song orientated tracks at the end of the album.

We have gone to extraordinary lengths to source individual items of original vintage recording gear crucial to the sonic signature of the era. The entire recording has been mixed and mastered using original era analog recording equipment where possible, with only minimal use of anything 'digital' or computer software based.

The list of vintage toys we have been able to get our paws on includes rare vintage spring reverbs,valve and class A eq's and effects, real tape echo's, guitar amps, pedals, class A compressors, limiters, and filters.

The journey has been worth every wonderful moment, and we are very pleased with the end result. We hope you find the same joy listening as we did in creating this extravagant album.

I for one would like to thank everyone who contributed vocally / musically / or rhythmically for their extraordinarily talented contributions, not least of whom my 15 yr old daughter Grace, who, singing so beautifully on track 8, touch the sky.. with astoundingly accurate intonation.. suffered my hardcore 'It's not right until it's right' production methods with great patience, resilience and well....Grace!!

This release is the first chapter of initially 2 chapters, the second of which will be released shortly, with the distinct possibility of more in the pipe. Dub has always been a core style of the Ullulators, and over time our love for this music has only grown.

This is not a 'band album' as such, but more an open-minded 'project', and consequently we have guest appearances, and in true Ullulator style a plethora of elements unique to this project. This means that the current live lineup is not changed, but through the input of some amazing musicians new to our tribe, likely expanded :)

This year will see the Ullulator family once again gather and be resident in the same country!! in UK - the first time for some years, and we are motivated and keen to see that this bring us all together more easily for gigs, recording, experimenting, and enable future releases without the limitations of distance we have been dealing with these past few years.
