The genre known as trance has suffered in recent years due to the fact that every producer has followed a typical formula in hopes of writing a chart hit. But the facts remain in the roots. Of all the so called trance classics, Transformation is the perfect example of early trance. Hypnotic and deep, the groove here is found within the drive. This one in its orignal form just chugs along with no gimmicks or novelty. Just a driving hypnotic groove and haunted woman chants floating along amongst a solid 909 Beat. The 2x12 remixes had every style thrown in. This one is an essential for the collection.

This is one of those tunes that still holds up today. There are few trance tracks of this calibre and few tracks do it justice, played on either side. Beyond - 'Silver' is about the only tune I can think of that fits the bill and that itself is a rare breed. Rising High Collective - Fever called Love (Hardfloor Mix) is perhaps another. Magical in my opinion. Modern trance could learn a thing or two from these tracks.
