Various - Bluetooth Mp3

I never really liked this compilation initially, but it has grown on me. This was Koyote records at their most experimental, trying to move beyond the sound of Goa, a darker version of which they had helped to define in their early excellent compilation "Strange Vibrations". The first track by Supersonic Dolls is great - a slow, moaning, moody way to start proceedings, as though we are in a bayou swamp. This is followed by two funky/suomi tracks. Dara-Lee's is interestingly jazzy, but it ends up sounding a bit silly really. Predictably, the fourth track by Marcello Bonifacii is class - a spacey tribal atmosphere that just leaves one wondering how good this compilation would have been if he'd had more of a part in it. Two fast, bizarre and trippy tracks from Psychoid (manic like "Manic Organic" but not as good) and Mr Peculiar follow, with the latter the more interesting, and with an appropriate title. But these are quite forgettable compared to the next - Xenomorph's "Malkuth Temple" is just awesome - a terrifying trip to a lower rung in Dante's inferno. The shining star in an intriguingly experimental compilation. ~*~
