Surprised to see this so cheap here. Its so good! Might be my favourite pre-The Chronic type of comp. Only maybe "Blew Up The Bridge" is anything I'd call a little weak or skippable. The rest I was totally happy to explore.
So sorry to see Ego Trip go. In the US, hip-hop magazines of its quality just can't seem to last and it's a damn shame. As a parting gesture, the folks at Ego Trip assembled this mandatory old-school compilation containing some stone cold rarities: Divine Force, MC Mitchski, Marley & Shan. Who doesn't want/love these tracks? I don't think I'd be able to have a long conversation about hip-hop with someone who doesn't. Rawkus (during its peak) and Ego Trip were, for a minute, on top of the world.
