Notes

"Official" repress of Various - Make War Not Love LP. More likely a white vinyl version off the same pressrun. White has some blue streaks in it, from left over paint from a previous run at the pressing plant. Comes in clear PVC sleeve with inserts and "I ♥ Violence" (bumper)stickers. 100 copies made. Intro/outro taken from the German version of 80's TV cop spoof "Sledge Hammer".

What may seem like a ragtag collection of tracks today, was in fact a full blown aural revelation back in the "old days" of 1991.You see, when this was released there was no internet (you tell 'em gramps!), and hardcore punk from the land of Shabu Shabu was as obscure as sanity on Fox news. The language barrier and relative isolation of Japan made it seem an impenetrable fortress to us spotty Gaijin teenagers. The happy few got to trade with Japanese friends, the rest of us just infrequently read about this MYSTERIOUS and EXCITING branch of music in fanzines that - without fail - arrived months after the fact, and provided only tiny pieces of the puzzle. So this here collection, put together with a lot of humor and enthusiasm - much like the early instalments of the KBD series - provided a great introduction into the music and the first exposure for many to Japcore staples like Kuro, Zouo, Comes, Antiseptic etc. So I don't like violence, I LOVE it! Ofcourse, limited to 100 copies, almost two decades after its release, this record has become even more obscure then the original releases. So the nerds that own it can FINALLY hang loose in the humid heat that engulfs the pantheon of collector scum.
spot on. I can recall building a want list from other people's want lists and finding out later some of these records did not exist (Gauze flexi anyone?), getting trade lists with incomprehensible band names on them, you could try writing to a penpal in Finland or Australia to ask them if they had any idea what "Gasatsu Crime Fighter" might sound like. The good old days.Kind of annoying when some youngster is like "OMG YOU DON'T HAVE 4th INTERNATIONAL AND SHA-LONDON 8" FLEXIS? THOSE ARE MY FAVORITE BANDS!!!"
