What a compilation. Send this one out there with the next Voyager mission before faraway civilizations, picking up stray radio waves of mid-90s pirate radio shows dropping "Complexities", get an urge for this sound and come plunder our record collections. Just gold all the way through. There's been essays written on this sound so I won't bore further with my 2nd gen take on it. Just one question: Who are the blokes on the inners? The fella with glasses and a beret is LTJ Bukem. And the others?

Dark Skies the only place you can find this haunting beauty of a tune, Atlantis (I Need You), Complexities, Close Your Eyes & Universal Music on one set, magic. Lovely stuff, an LP full of positive, deep and thought provoking music
Taur
A cheap way to get Atlantis - plus everything else is great on it too. 10/10
Clever
Also - correct me if I'm wrong here anyone - it's the ONLY way to get the jaw-dropping masterpiece that is 'Seba + Lotek - Universal Music'. Not only that, you also get 'Source Direct - Complexities' @33 1/3. Plus both get a side to themselves, bliss.
Kefym
For me, it's all 33 1/3, otherwise it is too fast!

Does this release have a bit of a schizoid speed thing going on? Seems to me that if there's only one track per side it spins at 45 but the two track sides spin at 33 1/3.
Mr.Death
yeah, the sides with only one song on it play at 45 rpm while the sides with two songs on them play at 33 rpm

Seba is a major producer on the history of Drum n' Bass that was behind at least three of the most amazing tunes of the genre: "Planetary Funky Alert", "So Long" and "Universal Music", the two last ones made with his friend Staffan Soderman A.K.A. Lotek (you definitely cannot miss the opportunity to acquire them if you have the chance). This hi-quality compilation "Logical Progression Level 2" was the first occasion where "Universal Language" from Seba & Lotek was released (1997). Among several aesthetic synth pads (some of them overlapped, other oscillating), there is a very elegant percussion, notes & strings in dub creating an intense, futuristic and unique atmosphere; you literally find yourself drownin' in the deepness and barely can understand the female whisperings saying "Universal... Music!", "Respect... People!", "Universal... Music!", a sort of anthem of that concept - which makes us think that, for Seba & Lotek, it's not only about 'producing', it goes further, something like the sensation of creating pieces of art for each music they make.
