Compilations can be divided into two sorts, those who you wonder why has been made, and those who has a mission. This one has clearly a mission and it is to give people a crash course into the European sound artist scene.

So what is sound artists? Well in this case the artist use sounds that normally isn't in use in music, mostly because the sounds can come from everything from avalanches to a typewriter. They use this sounds as their basic instruments in their approach to music and make experimental pop, contemporary music or sound collages for your pleasure.

On MUU For Ears 3 there are 10 artists (& groups) from Europe that together deliver 14 different tracks that show the difference in this scene from the more contemporary contribution from Charlie Morrow to the rhythmic noise tracks of Incite/ and a cut up collage from Disinformation to the poetic, almost ambient contribution from Alice Evermore & Eavesdropper.

All in all if you ever consider to let your ears discover the beautiful, but sometimes strange world of sound music, this is probably one off the best introductions to this part of the wide world of music.
