Various - Tox Uthat Vol. 2 - A Trance Ambient Compilation Mp3

I remember receiving the advance cassette release of this comp.
back in '94 when I was reviewing new releases for a rave culture / club culture
monthly publication on the west coast. It is indeed a very good collection
of IDM, or chillout techno, or whatever you want to call it. I think that the
reason they changed the working title to "Trance Ambient.." is because
at the time this was released in 1994 "trance" was the biggest hype word going
in the electronic dance music genre, so record companies were just
throwing the word on anything they could in the hope to sell more
units to the masses. And no there isn't really any trancy sounding
material on this comp.

Incredible comp. So so so glad I took a chance on a compilation with "trance" in the title when I came across it at one of the local music stores. The Tapeworm tracks are weapons! But so are the rest of them.

Cannot for the life of me believe no comments have been made on this compilation.
Theres actually a Tox Uthat volume 1 which is good but this one stands the test of time and is polished down to the final track. This isnt trance and dance style electronica more on the sublime and atmospheric very well thought out and most or all the artist understand mood and choice of the sounds their using.
The best part about the music here is that you do not here some of those stale over-utilized 90s rhythm loops that really date the music so the music still has a freshness to it.
Word of note the Drome, Capslock and Alpine Vortex tracks are superb.
