Cross Joint sample from the film Pineapple Express ! Wicked track !£60 for a VG record - make my blood boil . I have just heard some decent remixes of Stop the System but not as good as the original at all comparing structure and acid intelligence And....why the fuck is Cross Joint being ignoredIdiotic producers :(just repress the original press for the love of acid Time for some other acid

Cash grabbing wankers! Not in the spirit of underground techno at all.

A fantastic three-track release here. For me, the star attraction is the title track, the evil monster "Stop the System." The synths are barbarous, the acid is merciless, and the pounding percussion is styled in a way only Henry can do. This unbelievable tune honestly gets better every time I listen to it. When the heavy acid drops at around 3:30, you know what kind of madness you're dealing with. Then, as an increasingly dissonant synth demands your attention, the bassline and percussion suddenly kick into a new gear (around 4:20), and the result is devastating. And the track just gives you more of the same after the main breakdown---dirty and deranged acid techno par excellence. A class tune if I've ever heard one."The Cross Joint" is great, too, though it certainly exudes a different vibe. Indeed, it's smooth and bubbly, without any of the evil menace found in "Stop the System." Still, it's a fun little excursion, and features a hilarious sample about "the dopest dope I've ever smoked." This is a nice juxtaposition to the flip-side of the record. Finally, we find Ben Fraser's "Tek Stream," a relatively low-key affair by the artist's standards. Still, this is a totally decent track. It's sort of hybrid between mellow acid techno (the acid component is there, but pretty minimal) and austere hard/psy-trance (not surprising given Ben/Sabertooth's catalog of music). On another release, this might stand out more; but here, it's definitely third-fiddle, as least for me.
